Why Lawyer go Dey put eye for agent fee after collecting legal fee?

A client finally got an apartment yesterday after searching for a long time.
Two weeks ago she almost paid for a place but we later found out that it has been taken and she was devastated because she loved the place and had created time out of her busy schedule.

This could have been avoided if the agent we linked her up with was honest from the beginning. I mentioned it here that most Port Harcourt agents are greedy and will know that a place is no longer available but will still call a client to come for inspection so they will collect inspection fee.

The greed that runs in their veins can supply light to the entire Nigeria.

The new one now is that they are charging 10k for inspection especially if the house is fine and they know you are desperate.

The economy is hard on everyone but not being considerate of your clients is barbaric behavior.

Fast forward to yesterday, this client finally paid for a place and I was overjoyed especially because she’s a lady and most house owners detest giving out their apartment to single women.

*It’s a men’s world*

The house she paid for has a lawyer and she paid everything including the legal fee which I think the landlords should be the ones paying any lawyer they give their house to not the tenants.

This lawyer still had the audacity to ask for 5% agent fee out of the 15% we charge and he said if we don’t give him, he’d refund her.

My partner and I are not greedy folks and knowing how much stress our client have passed through, we obliged his shenanigans.

Right now if you are searching for an apartment, houses are cost, transport is cost, so make sure you are working with an agent that has compassion because with what I have seen in this agent pool, they won’t mind drowning you as long as they make money.

It’s so terrible that as humans, a lot of us do not have conscience and we don’t consider others when taking actions.

I’m glad we finally delivered on our promise to our client and we can’t wait to see how she turns the house into her home.
