As my tenure as Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Nigeria Branch officially comes to an end tomorrow, my heart is full of deep gratitude. ๐Ÿ™

It's been an honour to serve the Branch and steward its voice across our social media platforms. Every post, campaign, & update was driven by a commitment to excellence and a genuine desire to project the values, growth, & professionalism of the Institute. Beyond the public posts, Iโ€™ll also miss responding to inbox enquiriesโ€”sometimes at 2am. At times it felt like balancing a day job & a night job, but I wouldnโ€™t change a thing about the experience.

I remain deeply grateful to everyone who supported & voted for me during the 2024 Branch Executive Committee election. I wish I could name everyone, but if I were to choose an excellent representative of the many amazing people I owe my thanks to, it would be Dr. Chikwendu Madumere, Ph.D (Dundee). Thank you, Dr. Chi & my dear Ciarb Nigeria family.โค๏ธ

Thank you to: Olushola Adeniran for encouraging me to run, Emeka Onyeka, FCIArb (my Port Harcourt Chapter Chair/Aberdonian Oga) & Esosa Omo-Usoh, FCIArb (my PH Chapter 1st Vice Chair/Dearest Friend) for nominating me for the election, & Prof Paul Idornigie, SAN for nominating me as Branch PRO.

My deepest appreciation goes to my Branch Chair, Mrs. Olusola Adegbonmire, C.Arb, whose leadership, mentorship & motherhood made this journey truly meaningful. I sincerely thank the Branch Secretary, Dr Adeyemi Agbelusi, FCIArb & General Manager, Chinelo Agbala, for their invaluable support. I thank the entire Branch Exco for the collaboration & teamwork throughout my tenure. Working with such a brilliant & supportive team made the role rewarding & impactful.

Congratulations to outgoing Exco Members: Mr. Seyilayo Ojo, SAN, M.CIoD, C.Arb, Mrs. Funke Agbor, SAN, FCIArb, Dr. Kolawole Mayomi, FCIArb, & Dr. Adeyemi Agbelusi, FCIArb. It was an honour serving with you.

Thank you, Isaiah Bozimo SAN & Diane Okoko, FCIArb for an unforgettable 2024 & your support. Thank you, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Wahab C.Arb, FCIArb, Tonye Krukrubo, SAN & Tunde Fagbohunlu SAN for your outstanding mentorship. (Contd in CS).

We successfully hosted the Inaugural Biannual Membersโ€™ Forum of the CICC, CIArb Nigeria Branch, on 25 March 2026.

It was an engaging afternoon of dialogue on strengthening the in-house ADR community and sharing practical insights on arbitration and dispute resolution.

A key highlight was the insightful session by our Special Guest Speaker, Mr. Godson Ugochukwu, SAN, FCIArb., who shared valuable perspectives on managing enforcement riskโ€”reminding us that strong enforcement outcomes begin with well-drafted arbitration agreements.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Mr. Godson Ugochukwu, SAN, FCIArb, for his time, expertise, and generous support of the Committeeโ€™s initiatives; to Fortress Solicitors for their generous sponsorship; and to our Branch Chair, Mrs. Olusola Adegbonmire, C.Arb, for her continued support. We also thank all members who joined us in-person and virtually.

We look forward to building on this momentum in 2026.
