IBEJU LEKKI, THE NEW FRONTIERS FOR AFRICA'S COMMERCIAL ENTERPRISE

IBEJULEKKI has often been referred to as by experts as The New Frontiers of Africa's Commercial Enterprise. Upon hearing this, three pertinent questions come to heart

- How is this possible?
- At what time will this happen?
- What level will the impact be?

The first question has been addressed by the level of infrastructure available in IBEJULEKKI. The Dangote Refinery that is billed to commence operations in December 2019. It is expected to cost $10 Billion, and the refinery will be the largest in Africa, producing over 650,000 barrels of oil a day. This figure when achieved will be sufficient for Nigeria's domestic oil needs and still have enough for export.

The implications is that the refinery alone has the capacity to attract nearly 75% of commercial activities in the down stream oil sector of the Nigerian economy, drastically cutting down importation if not stopping it completely.

Take a moment and consider the activities of oil tankers in and out of the ports, oil storage facilities and depots. This activities will surely shift from the Apapa Ports to the Dangote Refinery. Ask yourself will the refinery able to cater for this alone.

The Deep Sea Port and the free trade Zone provides it's own unique commercial pressure. Hence the unique opportunity to purchase commercial plots in and around the IBEJULEKKI area. Indeed the need for commercial plots cannot be over emphasised, the need for warehouses, Beaurau the change, Banks, parking lots, duck yards to mention a few.

More so, it is estimated that 35% of work force in this technical establishment's will comprise expatriates.
