“Many of my clients are in a stage where in order to take their business to the next level; they HAVE to get some type of help.
There is no way I could accomplish all I do without my team who is behind the scenes! This includes several virtual assistants, a bookkeeper, an accountant, an attorney, and a website designer. Each plays a critical role in helping my business grow and allows me to enjoy a life as well as a thriving enterprise.
Yet many people resist bringing people into their company….
Why, you ask?
They say they can’t turn any of their tasks over to someone else – they won’t know what to do!
They think someone else won’t be able to do their work as well as they can.
They LIKE being in charge.. of it all!
They are just plain afraid! What if they do it wrong, or what if the person they choose doesn’t work out?
What happens if you do NOT bring in help? Then growth is limited! Simple as that. And you will only be able to grow to a certain level, and IF you don’t end up terribly burnt out and ready to go find a job, growth will stunt and start to wither.
So, follow these five simple steps to help you determine what you need help with and how to move your business to the next level:
Write down everything you do. Every simple step, no matter how insignificant it seems. Each of these steps takes time out of your day.
Next to each item, determine if it’s an income-producing task or a non-income producing task. A non-income producing task is setting up your autoresponders or entering payments into your accounting software. An income-producing task is writing blogs or creating new services or programs.
Then look at the non-income producing tasks and ask yourself which ones would you LOVE to never do again.
Make a list of your own weaknesses. This might be you hate dealing with technology, or numbers, or forget things easily.
Looking at those weaknesses, what strength would someone else need in order to counter that weakness from you.
You now have your list of things that support people could do and the type of person/people you are looking for!
You don’t have to bring someone on to do ALL of the things you’d like to let go of at once. As you look at your non-income producing tasks, remember that if you didn’t have to do them, you could make more money! And, as you make more money, you can afford more help!
So, find someone to start helping you with just one task. It might be an assistant to help you with your newsletter – someone who knows autoresponders real well and how to make the most out of them. Or it might be a bookkeeper who could clean up the mess you’ve made with Quickbooks!
Your choice. But MAKE one, so you can spend more time doing what you LOVE to do, and be able to make more money while doing it!”
