The place of a female child is no longer permanently in the kitchen (and actually, has never been).
From history, women have taken up roles in conquests, leadership, inventions, trade and have even taken more daring roles in today's science, sports, academics, and in just about any facet of life you could think of.
Today, the first of many series to come, we discuss some of them who have proven their mettle beyond doubt.
Mo Abudu 57: From Human Resources to talkshow to broadcasting and filmmaking, Mosunmola (the eldest of 3 sisters), has blazed the trail & shone like a star in everything she's ventured into.
After heading the HR & Training Department for ExxonMobil for years (upon her return from the UK in 1993), the great multi-tasker and grandmom to a boy, later founded her firm; Vic Lawrence & Associates in 2000.
The UK-born entrepreneur and mother of two children: a daughter Temidayo (who's also a film & TV producer) and a son Adekoyejo, a budding art consultant; went on to establish a television station, Ebony Life Tv in 2013, providing entertainment content in different forms to create a positive narrative around Africa and change the world's perception about Africa.
She has co-executive-produced several films. Some of her movies like - Fifty, The Wedding Party, and Chief Daddy were bought by Netflix.
Not done yet, the leading film-maker ventured into a special kind of hospitality with the opening of a uniquely designed structure called; EbonyLife Place at Victoria Island. This one-stop edifice meets all the cravings of leisure seekers, having an art gallery, rooftop bar, cinema, restaurants, event spaces, movie studio, and a boutique hotel with twenty curated rooms, each fitted with original artworks.
