Happy Easter from TOKAN Foundation!

This Easter, we celebrate hope, renewal, and the power of giving. Just as we support the children we serve on their journey toward brighter futures, we are reminded that every act of kindness helps nurture a better tomorrow.

Let’s continue to spread love and make a difference, one step at a time. 💙

Every child deserves a voice, even in the courtroom.

Our Programme & Operations Associate is regularly in court monitoring ongoing cases handled by CRJJC, ensuring that children in conflict with the law are not left unheard or unsupported.

Through the dedication of our volunteer lawyers, CRJJC maintains a consistent presence in court, providing pro bono legal representation and standing in the gap for children who cannot stand alone.

At every stage, we work to ensure fairness, dignity, and protection within the Child Justice System.

The Child Rights and Juvenile Justice Center (CRJJC), registered as Child Rights and Juvenile Advocacy Center with CAC/IT/No/193337, is the legal services arm of TOKAN Foundation. We provide legal support to children and juveniles in Nigeria. Our wholistic approach to child rights advocacy and juvenile justice helps to ensure that children and juveniles receive needed support in and out of the court room.

On Friday, 13 March 2026, the Child Rights and Juvenile Justice Center (CRJJC) hosted its Know Your Rights initiative for students at the Lagos City Senior College in Yaba.

It was an engaging and enlightening session where students learned about Child’s Rights and Child Justice Administration, gaining a better understanding of their rights and responsibilities.

The learning didn’t stop at discussions. The students also participated in fun activities including “Picasso Me,” where they were asked to draw the stage, with the best drawings receiving gifts. Another interactive game, “Be My Lawyer,” challenged students to think like child advocates, and the winners were also rewarded with branded CRJJC tshirts.

The session ended on a cheerful note with snacks and soft drinks, rounding off an afternoon filled with learning, creativity, and laughter.

At CRJJC, we believe that empowering young people with knowledge of their rights is a vital step toward building confident and responsible citizens.

Today, school doors reopen and with them come new beginnings for our children. For many, returning to school means more than lessons and timetables, it means hope, safety, and the chance to dream again. A classroom can be a place where confidence is built, potential is discovered, and futures are shaped.

As these children resume, let us remember that not every child returns with the essentials they need or the support they deserve. Now more than ever, our collective care, advocacy, and commitment matter. When we stand up for children and their right to education, we are not just sending them back to school, we are sending them forward in life.

Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and become all they are meant to be. Partner with us today, your donation/sponsorship can keep a child in school.

Compliments of the Season. As we close 2025, we reflect with deep gratitude on a year defined by purpose, perseverance, and profound impact.

During the 1st Term (September and December 2025) a total of ₦6,351,500 (approximately USD $4,327) was expended on school fees, lesson fees, school bags, shoes, and other supplies. Every Naira spent reflects our commitment to dignity, access to justice, and equal opportunity for every child.

Throughout 2025, TOKAN Foundation and its legal arm, the Child Rights & Juvenile Justice Centre (CRJJC), remained steadfast in our shared mission: to ensure that no child or young person is denied a future of possibilities by providing education, welfare support, and access to child-centred justice that restores hope, dignity, and opportunity.

Through CRJJC, we maintained a strong and consistent presence in court, providing pro bono legal representation for children in conflict with the law.

As we close this remarkable year, we extend heartfelt thanks to our donors, volunteers, partners, and friends. Your support powered every court appearance, every school fee paid, every welfare visit, and every moment of reassurance offered to a child.

As we step into 2026, we invite you to continue this journey with us. Together, we can reach more children, defend more rights, restore more futures, and build a society where every child is seen, protected, and empowered to thrive.

Today marks three years since the Child Rights and Juvenile Justice Center (CRJJC) began its mission to stand between vulnerable children and the silence of the justice system. Registered on 29 November 2022, CRJJC was born from the vision of the TOKAN Initiative and now stands as the legal services arm of TOKAN Foundation, fearlessly defending children who should never stand alone.

Our Impact at a GlanceFrom inception to date, our volunteer lawyers have represented children in court, ensuring due process and securing their release. With dozens of court appearances and over hundreds of pro bono hours, our team stood firmly for children whose parents could not afford legal costs.

Spreading Knowledge, Empowering Young Lives
Beyond the courtroom, CRJJC’s Know Your Rights Initiative has reached hundreds of children and young people eager to understand their rights as follows:
* Hosted repeated initiatives at five children’s correctional centres in Lagos.
* Hosted the initiative for girl and members of the Mosafejo Community in Oworonshoki, through a partnership with Drug Aid Africa.
* Hosted the initiative for students at St. Timothy College in Yaba.

Three Years of PurposeAs we celebrate three remarkable years, we honour every volunteer, partner, and supporter who have strengthened our work. Most importantly, we reaffirm our commitment to every child who walks into a courtroom, correctional centre, or community gathering with fear in their eyes but hope in their hearts.

Support Our Mission
We provide legal support to children and juveniles in Nigeria. Our wholistic approach to child rights advocacy and juvenile justice helps to ensure that children and juveniles receive needed support in and out of the court room.

How You Can Help
Donations remain crucial to our work and you can support our activities with donations to TOKAN Foundation’s bank account No. 1015972986 (Zenith Bank Plc) or https://paystack.com/pay/tokanfoundation.
