I had an interesting conversation with a young man last week. Let me drop part of it here:

Me: You have to trap money because it’s a current and it flows, that’s why it is called CURRENCY.

Young Man: Hmm 🤔 I remember I made a lot of money when I started this business but I can’t account for it at the moment.

Me: When you check your account statement, you will be shocked the amount of money that has passed through your hand 😁. You thought that you had no money but you didn’t realize that you had money but you wasted it.

Young Man: (Almost shaking on his seat): I am so happy to have this discussion with you… Ah!

Me: As a young person, prioritize building your assets so that you can generate cash flow. This will help you to have a stress-free financial life.

If your excuse is that “Money is not enough”, money will never be enough. Be INTENTIONAL about saving and investing.

Young Man: People usually say that the money that you will use to buy a land, you will not use it to eat or party.

Me: That is not correct. Some people have eaten their future today. No plans for the future. They have set themselves up to work at old age when they ought to rest and enjoy 😉.

Each time I showed my daughter her pictures when she was 1+, she would call herself “baby” 😃, not realizing that she is the same person in the picture. If I try to convince her by calling the “baby” her name, she would disagree with me.

What does that mean?

The truth is that you need to grow to a point that you forget who you used to be or even imagine what you used to be and begin to laugh 😂.

Same thing applies to your asset. You need to grow your portfolio and keep accumulating cash producing assets, reducing liabilities as much as possible.

For some of my followers, they have added some properties to their real estate portfolio this year. So, when they look back at who they were last year, they look better. They are more confident and comfortable than before.

You cannot be working and you have nothing to show for it. Assets helps you to achieve that fulfillment.

However, no matter where you are, BE GRATEFUL.

Gratitude builds your energy.
Gratitude sustains your focus.

If you start your week with gratitude, there is a higher chance of success.

Salary is not a long term solution.

When you need money and you only think about getting a job to fix the financial issue, you are wrong, because salary proffers a temporary solution and money problem is not temporary. You need a better way out😣.

Let’s try another method: When you need money and you are thinking about a product or service that you can sell that you don’t have to reproduce every time you get an order (e.g. Ebooks, rental properties etc.), then you are on the right path.

Why?

Because you will not always have the energy to work. Even if you have the energy to work, you may not have the opportunity to work for money.

Who wants to hire an old man, when a young man is available?

You must start thinking about:

1. Stocks
2. ⁠Bonds
3. ⁠Income-generating real estate
4. ⁠Businesses that are run by others. Make sure you are ready to delve into this before starting.
5. ⁠etc.

While you are collecting salary, think of growing your assets.

It could be real estate. It could be intellectual property. If you know how to write ✍️ songs, you can earn royalties from your music.

Salary cannot save you always.

Invest in assets.

We started this year with “No gree for anybody”.

By February, inflation hit us hard from different parts of the world, thus some people began to say “I cannot kill myself”.
