(YOUR LAWYER'S CORNER with MOO)

DO YOU KNOW THAT;
When purchasing a property jointly with your spouse, your name and that of your spouse should be used in the title documents and the Deed should indicate that it is a joint purchase. For example, if a married couple, Mr Sunday Adams and Mrs Catherine Adams want to purchase a property jointly, the purchase document should indicate the names as “Mr Sunday Adams and Mrs Catherine Adams” not “Mr and Mrs Adams”.

Now you know right?

(YOUR LAWYER'S CORNER with MOO)

DO YOU KNOW THAT;

The relevant means of verifying land is by conducting a search at the Land Registry. Thus, conducting a search at land Registry before buying would help you to know if the seller is the real owner of the property you are planning to buy. You will also get to know if the property has been used as collateral for loan with any financial institution.
