The *Reforming Pre-trial Detention in Nigeria Project* is a 2 year project funded by the *Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, United States of America* which was introduced to law clinics in 2020 with the sole aim of providing a pathway towards the decongestion of correctional centers in Nigeria thus improving and ensuring the growth of our justice system.
Not only has the RPDN project given clinicians the opportunity of a sufficient knowledge on legal education while imbibing vital lawyering skills in them, it has also been the reason for the release of a good number of pre-trial detainees, most of which were unlawfully detained with no regard for due process in criminal law.
As one of the phases of this very beneficial project, there'll be an *International Virtual Exchange Program* scheduled to commence on *4th March to 1st April, 2022* with a total of 5 sessions and a lot to learn!
Not only will this project allow us network with people in same field with us all over the country, we will also be well grounded on the criminal justice system and clinical legal education e.t.c both in Nigeria and in the United States by experts in various aspects of law.
RPDN participant or not, this an opportunity to keep busy with something actually worth your time while awaiting the end of the strike. Plus, it is not everyday you get to interact with people with this much to offer so *DO NOT MISS OUT!*
