Buhari Budgets #500 Million To Build Federal Medical Centre In His Village

The administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has budgeted N500 million for the establishment of a new federal medical centre in Daura, Katsina State, Mr Buhari’s hometown.

This is contained in the N20.5 trillion 2023 budget proposal presented to the National Assembly by the President earlier in October.

When completed, the hospital will rank Katsina as the only state in Nigeria with two Federal Medical Centres.

The Federal Medical Centre, Katsina, is one of the existing 22 Federal Medical Centres distributed across the states of the federation and Abuja, the nation’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The distance between Daura and Katsina is 83.6 kilometres, and it takes about one hour to travel between the two towns by road.

Earlier this week Nigeria hosted the 62nd Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State & Government. I expressed gratitude for the support extended to me as Regional Champion on . The successes we recorded could not have happened without strong collaboration.

We worked closely to develop regional mechanisms that mitigated the effects of the COVID-19. The commitment shown by Member-States yielded very positive results as West Africa emerged as one of the regions with the least mortality rate, not only on the continent, but globally.

We also broke ground on the new ECOWAS Headquarters Building, in Abuja, for which we are grateful to the Government of the People’s Republic of China, for financial & technical contribution. The Building will house the ECOWAS Commission, ECOWAS Court of Justice and the Parliament.

Buhari Jets Out To Receive Award In Guinea Bissau

President Muhammadu Buhari has just departed Abuja for Guinea Bissau to be decorated with the country’s highest honor in recognition of his contributions to its political stability.

A statement by the Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu said the event will be heralded by a special ceremony at the Presidential Villa, which will include commissioning of a road named after the Nigerian leader, “Avenue President Muhammadu Buhari” in the capital city.
