Help me appreciate High Commissioner Imrana Bashir, Members of the Executive Committee, Prof Izar, Dr Danladi Aliyu, Associate Prof Yahuza, Dr Edgar Bamalu and Dr Rahanatu Lawal, HOD, all of the Department of Political Science and International Studies, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, for the privilege to deliver the Annual Lecture of the African Society of International Studies (ASIS), yesterday, 17th August, 2024.
After the Lecture, I was surprisingly honoured with an Award for my many activities to uplift the political awareness of the Youths to identify not only the social injustices in our Society, but also to take a determined, undaunted and resolute stance for our people whose dignity and even humanity are daily being denigrated.
It was an interesting, exciting and stimulating interactive session especially with the students who bombarded me with alot of questions, and of their own perspectives to the vexed issues I raised about 'The Accountability of the Legislature in a Presidential Federalism Under the Nigerian Constitution'. I also appreciated the sentiments of my Late eldest Brother, Abdullahi, who graduated from ABU in 1978; the boastfulness of my brothers, Suleiman Muhammad Gazuwa and Engr Mu'azu Atiku, of their pride of their Alma mater. ABU Zaria however remains the pride of all of us because it was the first Citadel of Learning in time in the Northern part of Nigeria. And I have a strong sentiment for my Late Brother, and the Late Dr Yusufu Bala Usman, whom I personally served in The Analyst Collective, a collection, at the time, put together by the Late Abdulkadir Balarabe Musa, of the most non conformist, radical and electrifying Marxist Leninists Scholars anywhere in Nigeria.
And the journey back to Kaduna was smooth and merciful. I thank Abubakar Badamasi, Esquire, my Attorney in Chambers, Alh Ibrahim Haruna Ringim, Haj Husaina AbdulHadi and Sanusi Mafara, for their kind attention and time. We thank God for our lives,
