Happy International Women's Day.

Today, we join the rest of the world in celebrating the annual International Women's Day.

The theme for this year's celebration is "Think Equal, Build Smart, Innovate for Change" which is a focus on innovative ways through which we can advance gender equality and the empowerment of
women especially through strong social protection and equalization systems.

We acknowledge women's rights, the immense role women play in nation building and driving the development of our society. So, we're happy to lend our voice to this advocacy towards a society based on gender equality, inclusiveness, mutual respect and where all form of discrimination against women is abolished.

We celebrate all women around the world!

Hitherto, we have firmly advocated for the domestication of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act in Kwara State but now that the Administration of Criminal Justice Law has been enacted in the state, our advocacy is henceforth channelled towards the effective implementation of this law in order to have a standard criminal justice system in the state. Hence, we cordially invite the public to our public lecture themed: "The Implementation of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law in Kwara State" where we are set to intellectually engage the key stakeholders in the Criminal Justice System of the state on their roles in the implementation of this law. Lecture to be delivered by Mr. K.K Eleja, SAN. Date is Friday 16th November, 2018. Venue is the Moot Court, Faculty of Law. Time is 10am. Be there!

UNILORIN LAW CLINIC ADVOCACY VISIT TO THE KWARA STATE CONTROLLER OF PRISONS

The Unilorin Law Clinic, on 29th March 2018, visited the office of the Kwara State Controller of Prisons.

The Controller, ably represented by Deputy Controllers Messrs. Emmanuel Tolorunsagba and Alabi Owolabi, pledged the support of the Kwara Prisons Service to the Clinic's Prison/Pre-Trial Detention Project sponsored by OSIWA and NULAI.

The visit proved to be enlightening as the DCPs shared insights into the unique position of prisons in the administration of criminal justice while affirming the commitment of the Prisons Service to our cause.

The Unilorin Law Clinic visited the office of the Attorney General of Kwara State on 22nd March 2018.

The Acting Attorney General, Barr. (Mrs.) Funsho Lawal, communicated her delight at the participation of Clinicians in the Prison/Pre-Trial Detention Project powered by OSIWA and NULAI.

She also pledged the support of her office and all the departments that make up the office of the Attorney General.

The Unilorin Law Clinic visited the Kwara State Coordinator of the Legal Aid Council on 19th March 2018.

Confirming the clear nexus between the Legal Aid Council and the Unilorin Law Clinic, the State Coordinator pledged the support of his office to the Clinic's Prison/Pre-Trial Detention Project sponsored by OSIWA.

This visit marks another milestone on our path of progress.

UNILORIN LAW CLINIC ADVOCACY VISIT TO THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC PROSECUTIONS, KWARA STATE

On 16th March 2018, the Unilorin Law Clinic dropped in on the Kwara State Director of Public Prosecutions. The amiable DPP welcomed us warmly and gave us an inside view on public prosecution in Kwara State.

Declaring himself and his office in support of the Clinic's Prison/Pre-Trial Detention Project powered by OSIWA, the DPP assured us that his office remains open whenever we call.

And the train of justice rolls inexorably along. 😀

UNILORIN LAW CLINIC ADVOCACY VISIT TO THE CHIEF MAGISTRATE OF KWARA STATE

The Unilorin Law Clinic visited the Office of the Chief Magistrate of Kwara State on 12th March 2018. This visit properly flagged off the Prison/Pre-Trial Detention Project powered by OSIWA and NULAI.

The Chief Magistrate, ably represented by the Deputy Chief Magistrate, affirmed the support of his office to the Project.
