Recently, a client engaged our law firm to conduct due diligence over a property. On the surface, the property was so appealing.

However, within two days of investigation we got to know that the property is subject to litigation and that the family who sold the property to the person who is selling to our client are customary tenants of another family (want to know about customary tenancy? You read cases on ojora family land disputes).

The lesson is to always conduct due diligence before before buying any property to avoid loss of investment.

Engage a legal practitioner to do it for you. Lawyers know the right steps to take. They know the right questions to ask. They know the exact risks to avoid. They know the right things to do.
