I do not think that the coming to an end of an interim order adversely affects whatever the order was meant to achieve or achieved. If the order was a restraining order, you cannot say that while it lasted or remained in operation, the party sought to be restrained was never restrained. It only means that the restraint is now at an end and that party is free of the restraint. KUBA V DICKSON (2012) 10 SC NJ

It's interesting to see how the full weight of the law was unnleased on NFF for fielding a sanctioned player in the match between Nigeria v Algeria. What's more interesting is the decision of NFF to accept the sanction dolled out by FIFA to officially award the match to Algeria. Yeah, the match can now be officially said to have ended 3-0 in favor of Algeria.

When the full intent and provision of the law is applied, records are set. Precedent is set. And what was raif in the minds of the populace seems to be affected. If not that Nigerian had already qualified for the World Cup before playing Algeria, they would have been automatically taken out of the 2018 World Cup. As Nigeria prepares for 2018 World Cup, one wonders if they have learnt from what happened. Only time will tell!
