If I could stop just one person from making an expensive building mistake, it would be this.

Most people think once they buy land and save money, they’re ready to build.

No.

This is where costly mistakes begin.

Before any construction starts, you must understand a few key documents.

First, the Architectural Drawing. It shows your home layout rooms, doors, and windows. If you don’t understand it, your house may not turn out as expected.

Next is the Structural Drawing. This is what keeps your house standing. It guides the foundation, columns, beams, and reinforcement.

Then the Bill of Quantities (BOQ). This controls your budget by listing materials and costs. Without it, you’re just guessing your spending.

Fourth, the Mechanical and Electrical Drawings. These plan your wiring, plumbing, sockets, and drainage. Fixing them later is expensive.

Finally, the Building Approval Documents. Skipping them can stop your project or even lead to demolition.

Building a house is a major investment.

So don't build with assumptions.
