"We wish to communicate our heart felt appreciation to this honourable court for the resounding, exquisite, apt and well considered reasoning of this very honourable court as exhibitted in the judgment just delivered by this court.

We pray that God will continue to bless the court even as we wish my lord a very beautiful, refreshing and invigorating vacation filled with recrudescence of memory and the wisdom of Solomon. "

Those words followed the High Court's pronouncement of discharge and acquital (of the offence of armed robbery) yesterday as we pulled 2 young men away from the gallows.
All glory be to God for the grace of victory at trial.

TESTIMONY.

This career young embraced,
Beareth sweet fruit.
The pleasure of that messiac feeling,
Tickles primodial ribs.
With the Cross we appear
As daily we bear.
As we cross-examine,
He guides our tongue.
When we adumbrate,
He butresses.
We do nothing of our own.
We stand too young for the trials we undertake.
But daily, He does us inspire,
With the wits of those called decades ago.
To Him we return
This discharge and acquital
Daily we acquire.
It is the hands of no man
It is the Hand of only God.

No court is constitutionally empowered to refuse to faithfully consider whether there are genuine conditions to grant bail when trying bailable offences.... Mills Esq.

It is unconstitutional and a gruesome abuse of judicial powers to make a straight rule to the effect that "For a particular bailable offence, I don't grant bail. Forget about even applying for bail. I will not grant it".

This acrimonious rule stands, even on the face of special circumstances touching on ill health which could lead to loss of life of an inmate if he is not granted bail. This is certainly not the intention of the drafts man which a court is obligated to bring to bear.
This judicial attitude is bad bad and we don't need an angel from heaven to tell us how bad it is for our democracy. For even judicial wisdom has ones posited that "just as it is only the living that can praise the Lord, so it is only the living that can stand trial in a court or tribunal to test their guilt"

Need I repeat how imperative it is that justice is not only done but manifestly seen to have been done.

Justice is to a court what food is to a restaurant. It must be served therein and properly so served... Mills Esq.

There is no other business given to a court than to do justice. The whole essence of jurisdiction is justice... Mills Esq.

I cannot think of any other reason to deep my fetcher into the well of human dispute in a court of law, if not to fetch justice.... Mills Esq.

ON DUTY OF COUNSEL WRITING LETTER OF ADJOURNMENT TO FORMALLY FILE SAME:
"It is important to point out as well, that if a document is mearnt for the court to take note and act thereon, rules of court have made provisions for formal filing of such a document or documents with the registry of the court, for which a norminal fee is payable upon assessment by the registry staff, who authenticate the filing of that document and proceed to file same for the court's attention. It is only by formal filing when the court become seised of the document. All other ways or methods such as writing letters or petitions informing the Chief Judge/Chief Justice/Head of Court and or Chief Registrar(including his subordinate registrars) are purely administrative and have no force of law......I have all reason to believe therefore, that the said letter cannot be regarded as a legal document. Even if it is placed before the learned trial Judge, the best the learned trial Judge could do was to discountenance it." I.T. Muhammed, JSC - Regt.
