Use and Demand for Foreign Currency in Nigeria is a Crime.

The only allowed currency in Nigeria is Naira. It is an offence for any person(Nigerian or Foreigner), business, professional, school, church, hotel, company, consultant, agency or group, etc (whether locally or internationally owned) to pay, offer, demand, receive or use any currency other than the Naira in Nigeria. However, there are exemptions that can be granted by the government. Which government agency can grant the exemption, and why? What is the punishment for using or demanding foreign currencies in Nigeria without an exemption? All these are discussed in this video.

Across Nigeria, most persons (suspects) upon being arrested and detained are forced by the arresting officers to remove their clothes, belts, shoes, phones, wrist watches and other personal belongings. Most suspects are detained in police stations naked (barely wearing a short/pant, if any). Where a suspect is fortunate, he is offered his own trousers but to wear it inside-out.
How lawful is this practice? What are the rights of arrested persons? What actions can be taken against the arresting officers and agencies? What remedies awaits the victims?

The National Environmental Health Practice Regulations, 2024 (S.I. No. 72 of 2024).

This Regulations provide a comprehensive regulatory framework for environmental health practice and service delivery in Nigeria. The Regulations establish standards, requirements and procedures applicable to environmental health practitioners, environmental health service providers, businesses, institutions and other persons whose activities fall within the scope of environmental health regulation. It repeals the National Environmental Health Practice Regulation 2016.
