The activities of the last few months has been strenuous but it was made easier because of your support.
It was an opportunity that I had always craved for- to be able to tell the good people of Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency that they deserved and could get better representation at the green chambers.
The enormity of the love and support that I received from my supporters and my local community was unbelievably superior to what any first time political aspirant ever got. I have no iota of doubt that I am loved by my people. A question I had to answer many times is- where have you been?
My motivation for vying for this elected position is premised on my sincere desire to make a positive impact. Why the delegates voted otherwise despite a secured accord still amazes me. Nevertheless, I will not relent in my efforts to ensure that the people of Obubra/Etung feel the dividends of democracy. No one will ever ask me again that - where have you been?
Regardless of the outcome of the election, I am first satisfied that I had the opportunity to go through this process, and I am proud of the privilege of learning through it.
While you may be sad about the outcome of this election, I charge you to celebrate your partnership and support towards the Nigeria of our dreams. We may not all be able to vie for political positions, but supporting those we believe in, is a way of changing the narrative. We have successfully created and imprinted into the hearts of everyone, the JE BRAND.
I must also say that this was a very good opportunity for me to know and appreciate true friendship, selflessness, commitment and unconditional love. I thank everyone who made a donation, prayed, supported and encouraged me. I also thank those who disdained me and were eager to hear the bad news, their disdain was a springboard for me to rise above hatred.
I am immensely grateful to leaders of our great party and all my political mentors. I thank you all for taking a chance with me.
To my dearest family, both of the Ebokpo’s and the Babalola’s, this would have been impossible without your love and support. Thank you so much.
To my dearest children who still cannot believe the results of the elections despite my many explanations that - this is politics. I am grateful for your love, prayers and donations from your piggy bank. I hope I made you proud regardless, and I promise to bring the trophy home next time, by the grace of God!
To my loving wife and my greatest supporter, the past months have been characterized by so many intrigues. I have watched you played the role of a wife, mother, adviser, support group mobilizer, fundraiser and a prayer warrior behind the scene. You have been a very supportive wife, partner and a strong voice. Without your support, all these could never have come to pass. From the first day, you keyed into this project and gave it your ALL till the last. Even after it all, you have remained strong. I am proud of you. You are the real MVP. I will dedicate my time to make up for the period that I have been unavailable.
To the almighty God, whom all power belongs. I am grateful for the grace to thread this path in good health, sound mind of body and soul. As we are like pencils in the hand of our creator, I look forward to what HE will make of me in the days, weeks, months and years to come.
