Divorce-Child’s custody, care and control- DNA test.
Last month the High court granted an Order to compel parties in divorce proceeding to conduct DNA test to determine whether party is a biological father to the child. Something interesting to note in our development of law.

Delivery of Vacant Possession- Liquidated Ascertained Damages (LAD)- Extension of time.
The Federal Court in Ang Ming Lee & Ors v Menteri Kesejahteraan Bandar [2020] 1 MLJ 281 decided that the Minister of Housing and Local Government (‘Minister’) cannot delegate his powers under the Housing Development (Control and Licensing) Act 1966 (the ‘Act’) to grant an extension of time to a developer to complete the units in a housing development to the Controller of Housing (‘Controller’) under Regulation 11(3) of the Housing Development (Control and Licensing) Regulations 1989 (the ‘Regulations’) ie within 36 months. Therefore, If such extension of time is granted for example for 12 months to extend to 48 months in total to complete the construction project then such extension of time is invalid.
