Types of property tax in Malaysia:

1. Income tax from rentals: Tax that you need to pay if you rent out your property.

2. Quit rent: Also known as “cukai tanah” where you pay to your state government/land office.

3. Assessment tax: Also known as “cukai pintu” where you pay to your local council e.g. MBPJ, MBSJ and so on.

4. Real Property Gain Tax (RPGT): Additional cost that you need to pay to LHDN when you sell a property.
