We were honoured to be invited by Areca Capital to attend the Areca Investors Forum 2025, held earlier today. The event brought together distinguished thought leaders and industry practitioners to exchange views on the new global economic and investment landscape.

The keynote address was delivered by Tan Sri Andrew Sheng, who provided a compelling analysis of the emerging global economic order. He examined the shifting dynamics among global superpowers in the recent tariff wars and geopolitical tensions, and offered insights into the changing roles of the United States and BRICS nations within the global energy markets. His remarks also touched on the accelerating pace of technological advancement and its implications for global competitiveness and economic resilience.

Many children are born and raised in Malaysia but they are trapped in the loophole of being stateless. Statelessness is an ongoing issue affecting thousands of individuals in the country. That means, they are not Malaysian citizens and that they’re denied access to basic rights like education, healthcare and employment. Many apply for Malaysian citizenship and are rejected or left waiting in limbo. A new study shows that educating these non-citizen children could bring RM208 billion in economic benefits. But beyond the numbers, this is a matter of basic human right. Every child, regardless of paperwork, deserves the right to education.
