However, we are taking precautions to help bending the curve and to avoid increase of covid cases.

Since our firm is regularly visited by walk in and existing clients, dispatches, and couriers for purpose of meeting, delivery, and oath, besides the standard SOP, we have set up a temporary policy as follows:

1 Meeting is discouraged unless urgent basis.
2. Number of attendance should be maximum 2 person at a time to avoid crowd.
3. Walk in customers should call first for appointment.
4. Meeting and any transaction must be done as brief as possible.

Today, we have attended a case in a Session Court where our opponent has filed an application for an extension of time and to set aside Judgment in Default of appearance.

Judgment in Default is a judgment obtained by a plaintiff against the defendant without process of full trial. It has 2 categories as follows:-

1. Default of appearance = upon defendant's failure to file a Memorandum or Appearance after 14 days service of Summon is affected; and

2. Default of defence = It is obtained due to failure of the opponent to file Statement if Defence within 14 days after Memorandum of Appearance is entered or a further date fixed by the court. But this will only applied to cases involving a fixed sum of claim like debt cases.
