Hi, I'm Elaine Koh, a final-year law student from the University of London.
I would like to share my experience as an intern at Josephine, L.K. Chow. Looking back, it has been one of the most valuable learning experiences in my law school journey.
From day one, *all the lawyers at the firm* were incredibly welcoming, patient, and willing to guide me. As a student with limited practical exposure, I truly appreciated how they took the time to explain legal procedures, answer my questions, and let me learn by observing their work.
During my one-month internship, I had the opportunity to attend proceedings in the Industrial Court, Labour Court, Magistrates' Court, the High Court (Intellectual Property and Family Division), and even the Court of Appeal. It was exciting to see how different courts operate, and witnessing the judges deliver a unanimous decision in the Court of Appeal was a moment I will always remember. Experiences like these have made me even more certain that I want to pursue a career as a litigation lawyer.
Apart from attending court, I was also given the opportunity to conduct legal research and support the lawyers with their cases. Although these tasks may seem simple, they helped me understand how much preparation and teamwork go into litigation behind the scenes.
I am truly grateful to all the lawyers who took the time to mentor me, bring me to court, and share their knowledge and experience with me. Their encouragement made this internship not only educational but also enjoyable.
I would definitely recommend Josephine, L.K. Chow to any law student who is interested in litigation and wants to experience what working in a litigation law firm is really like. It is a place where you are trusted to learn, encouraged to ask questions, and given meaningful exposure to legal practice.
Thank you once again to everyone at Josephine, L.K. Chow for such a memorable and inspiring internship experience. I will always look back on this opportunity with gratitude.
