Hi, I'm Elaine Koh, a final-year law student from the University of London.

I would like to share my experience as an intern at Josephine, L.K. Chow. Looking back, it has been one of the most valuable learning experiences in my law school journey.

From day one, *all the lawyers at the firm* were incredibly welcoming, patient, and willing to guide me. As a student with limited practical exposure, I truly appreciated how they took the time to explain legal procedures, answer my questions, and let me learn by observing their work.

During my one-month internship, I had the opportunity to attend proceedings in the Industrial Court, Labour Court, Magistrates' Court, the High Court (Intellectual Property and Family Division), and even the Court of Appeal. It was exciting to see how different courts operate, and witnessing the judges deliver a unanimous decision in the Court of Appeal was a moment I will always remember. Experiences like these have made me even more certain that I want to pursue a career as a litigation lawyer.

Apart from attending court, I was also given the opportunity to conduct legal research and support the lawyers with their cases. Although these tasks may seem simple, they helped me understand how much preparation and teamwork go into litigation behind the scenes.

I am truly grateful to all the lawyers who took the time to mentor me, bring me to court, and share their knowledge and experience with me. Their encouragement made this internship not only educational but also enjoyable.

I would definitely recommend Josephine, L.K. Chow to any law student who is interested in litigation and wants to experience what working in a litigation law firm is really like. It is a place where you are trusted to learn, encouraged to ask questions, and given meaningful exposure to legal practice.

Thank you once again to everyone at Josephine, L.K. Chow for such a memorable and inspiring internship experience. I will always look back on this opportunity with gratitude.

Hi, my name is Ryan, and I’m a soon to be A-level student at the International School Parkcity.

As my one month internship at JLKC comes to an end, I wanted to express my sincere appreciation and gratitude for everyone at JLKC who made this experience so memorable. It has been an incredible opportunity to learn, grow and gain a firsthand experience into the legal profession, one that I will always be grateful for and one that I will cherish for years to come.

One of the most memorable parts of my internship was having the opportunities to attend proceedings at the Industrial Court, Magistrate Court, Family Court, and the Court of Appeal. Being able to witness cross-examinations and re-examinations firsthand, observe how the lawyers questioned witnesses and presented their arguments gave me a much deeper understanding of how litigation works.

Besides attending proceedings at court, I also had many opportunities to research a wide variety of legal topics such as unjust enrichment and estoppel. I also had an opportunity to find relevant cases to support our arguments and clients. Through this experience, I gained a deeper understanding on how research takes place behind the scenes, one of which I would not normally have the chance to experience.

What made this internship especially rewarding was the people here at JLKC. From our daily lunches to the conversations we shared throughout the month, I truly appreciated how everyone took the time to make me feel included and welcomed. During these past few weeks, I was able to hear about their personal experiences as lawyers, the challenges they had to overcome, and the valuable advice they shared with me about pursuing a future in law.

Finally, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Ms. Cyndi and Mr. Edward for your patience and generosity throughout the internship. Beyond teaching me about the legal profession and involving me in projects, I truly appreciated the small gestures that made the experience even more special, from taking the time to bring me to court, taking the time to have lunch together and sharing your experience with me. I am truly grateful for all the time, effort and encouragement you have given me throughout this journey.

Thank you once again to the entire JLKC team for your kindness, mentorship and support over the past month. I am truly grateful for this opportunity and will carry the lessons I’ve gained here as I continue working towards a future in law.

Hii ! My name is Reanna, and I’m currently a student at Garden International School just finishing off my first year of A levels :)

As I wrap up my 1 month long internship at JLKC, I just wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone for making it such a meaningful and unforgettable experience.

Over the past month, I had the opportunity to attend the Labour Court, Industrial Court, High Court, and even the Court of Appeal. Watching different trials, observing cross-examinations, and seeing how lawyers analyse evidence, question witnesses, and build persuasive arguments gave me a much deeper understanding of litigation than I could ever have gained from a classroom.

I was also really fortunate enough to work on a criminal case by helping draft a written submission and researching legal authorities. As someone who hopes to pursue criminal law in the future, this experience strengthened my passion for the field and confirmed why I want to study law. Having the chance to be involved in real legal work has also given me valuable insight and inspiration as I prepare my university personal statement.

Beyond the legal experience, what made this internship truly special was the people. From our daily team lunches to the support and encouragement I received throughout the month, everyone made me feel so welcomed and comfortable, even though I was one of the youngest in the office.

A special thank you to Mr. Edward and Ms. Cyndi for your patience, guidance, and for always taking the time to answer my questions and involve me in meaningful work. I truly appreciate everything I’ve learned from both of you.

Thank you once again to the entire JLKC team for your kindness, mentorship, and generosity in sharing your knowledge. I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity and will carry everything I’ve learned with me as I continue in working to pursue a career in law ! 🤍

*UPDATE* Phone lines are back up as at 12:20pm.

Our apologies but the phone lines are down in our KL office again due to the heavy rainstorm yesterday. This has been a major inconvenience for us since TMNET decided not to restore stolen copper wires and asking all residents around our neighbourhood to migrate to internet phone service.

We are currently working with TMNET to restore our phone lines and hope to have it up and running by tomorrow - that's when TMNET contractors have some 'available time' to attend to us.

For any queries, please message us here in messenger or drop us a whatsapp at 0123111580. Thank you!
