Re: Business Terrorism.

Caused by the recent issue of few socks with the word ALLAH found in a KK Mart, business owners are advised to be sensitive of the security of their business premises and offices. We should not discount of business terrorism caused by fanatics or extremists to destroy flourishing businesses or business of a certain race or community.

Business terrorism can force businesses to close down besides getting business owners to be prosecuted for criminal offences which they never committed. Business owners should be advised that evidence could be man made or planted to destroy them. Planted evidence are always difficult to be destroyed in court.

For example, terrorists may just burn or throw some holy books on the floors or into the toilets of a business premise to cause trouble to the business owners. Terrorists may also spike foods and drinks of supermarkets or eateries to cause alarm to the public.

Supermarket chains and shopping malls are also advised to inspect their premises often for fear of possible explosives and illegal goods and materials being planted in their premises.

PBK condemns business terrorism because not only it can destroy a business but also can cause alarm and affect public security, racial and religious tensions.

There is no provision in the Criminal Procedure Code to get members of public to attend at police station to assist police investigations by way of phone calls. The law requires something in writing to require attendances of members of public to avoid scammers.

Many people were scammed caused by handphone communications.

Public Complaint - government departments including Customs, MACC and Police have no right not to take any action or not to
investigate any criminal offence reported to them.

If the criminal offence reported to them is not under their jurisdiction, they have a responsibility to direct the case to the relevant government departments or authorities for further action.

They could not sweep such matters under the carpet or tell the complaint to take court action on the complaint. If public are to take things to court, then what is the use of departments like Customs,MACC and police?

To the victims or complainants it is advisable to take their matter to the highest authorities for actions including seeking their MPs and politicians to raise the matter at relevant avenues.

Most complaints I received were about police inefficiency.

I regret that I used to receive public complaints on ineffective assistance rendered to members of the public about their complaints.
