We are very pleased with the outcome of the hearing before learned High Court Judge this morning.

YA ruled that there are exceptional circumstances which render reference to the conciliatory body impracticable where there are persistent adulterous behaviour, financial irresponsibility, emotional harm, etc to our client not for short period but for a period of 2 to 3 years during subsistence of the marriage. Our client is allowed to proceed with the single divorce petition.

Prior to this, the Respondent husband filed application to strike out the divorce petition on procedural grounds which was also dismissed by the Court.

After almost 1 year, our client is able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Now the only thing left to decide is the custody and maintenance of the child.

We had a hearing of a divorce petition between a Laos national wife and a Malaysian husband. Upon submission, the learned High Court Judge, Dato Seri Mohd Radzi granted order in terms.

Stamp Duty Self Assessment System started on 1.1.2026.

Now we have to go MyTax website to click on Stamp Duty which will bring us to login STAMPS website. Everything else in the STAMPS website remains the same.

We had on behalf of our client stamped a tenancy agreement this month. We noticed there is no more "notis taksiran".

When we keyed in the rental amount and tenancy tenure, the system will still calculate on its own.

" Borang Nyata Duti Setem" and "Pengesahan Penerimaan Borang Nyata Duti Setem" had replaced "Notis Taksiran" .

Upon payment of the stamp duty, the usual "Sijil Setem" will be generated by the system.

So this is the noticeable changes that we know. Let's see what other updates from LHDN as we attends the webinar this morning.
