Most employees don't know the difference between JTK and JPP.

And that mistake can cost them their case.

In Malaysia, JTK (Jabatan Tenaga Kerja) and JPP (Jabatan Perhubungan Perusahaan) serve very different purposes:

JTK (Labour Department) handles money-related claims: unpaid wages, overtime disputes, maternity allowance, and more. It operates under the Employment Act 1955.

JPP (Industrial Relations Department) handles dismissal and industrial disputes: unfair termination, retrenchment, and union-related issues. It operates under the Industrial Relations Act 1967.

Filing in the wrong department not only wastes time but can also disqualify your claim entirely.

Knowing the difference isn't just useful, it's essential for protecting your rights at work.

PERKESO just expanded coverage for 9 million workers. Has your HR team talked about it yet?

From 1 June 2026, LINDUNG 24 JAM keeps your employees protected even after they clock out.

Slipped at the mall on a Sunday? Accident on a public holiday? Injured during a morning run before work? Covered.

Here's what it means for you:
📍If you're already registered with PERKESO, nothing changes. No new forms. No re-registration. Protection is automatic.
📍If you're an employer, contributions go through your existing payroll process. Deducted from employee wages, submitted to PERKESO monthly. Done.
📍Contribution starts at 0.75% of monthly wages, capped at a RM6,000 wage ceiling.

Employers and employees should also take note of the phased contribution adjustments that will be implemented from 2026 onwards.
