The Plaintiff, an advocate and solicitor, was alleged to have improperly dealt with monies entrusted for a sale and purchase transaction on behalf of the Respondent.

Following disciplinary proceedings, the Plaintiff was struck off the Roll pursuant to an order of the Advocates and Solicitors Disciplinary Board. The Plaintiff subsequently filed an originating summons seeking to set aside the said order, which was dismissed by the High Court. The matter was heard before Her Ladyship Justice Alice Loke.

We acted for the Intervener, the Bar Council, in these proceedings.

This decision underscores the importance of safeguarding client funds and reinforces the role of disciplinary oversight in upholding integrity and public confidence in the legal profession.
