A free press depends, in part, on journalists who understand the legal environment they operate in.
That is what drove our pro bono work training Malaysian journalists on defamation law and the legal boundaries of reporting – not to constrain what they write, but to give them the confidence to report without unnecessary fear of the law.
We are honoured that our work has been nominated for a TrustLaw Award 2026 – the Collaboration Award – by the Thomson Reuters Foundation.
Winners are announced 30 June. Wish us luck.
