The Judicial Review Conference 2025 was held on 23 August 2025 at the AIAC Auditorium, Kuala Lumpur, bringing together retired judges, lawyers, in-house counsel and tax practitioners to discuss the evolving role of judicial review in Malaysia.
The conference provided a platform to explore how judicial review strengthens justice, protects constitutional rights, and promotes good governance.
The event was graced by YAA Tan Sri Hasnah binti Dato’ Mohammed Hashim, Chief Judge of Malaya, as the Guest of Honour and Keynote Speaker, who delivered an inspiring keynote address on the judiciary’s role in safeguarding constitutional integrity. Distinguished speakers and panelists further enriched the discussions with their insights on the balance of powers, judicial accountability, and access to justice.
With active participation and meaningful exchanges, the conference reaffirmed the importance of judicial review as a cornerstone of democracy. It also highlighted the need for continued collaboration among legal professionals and policymakers in advancing the rule of law and strengthening Malaysia’s constitutional framework.
