It looks controlled. It isn’t.
Tens of thousands of people.
Everything running at full load.
Coachella makes it look easy.
Lights.
Sound.
Perfect timing.
But behind it -
Power is fluctuating.
Structures are moving.
Crowds are compressing.
Everything is interacting at once.
And that’s where risk lives.
We’ve seen what happens when it tips.
At Astroworld Festival 2021, nothing “broke” at first.
The crowd just got tighter.
Movement slowed.
Pressure built.
Until people couldn’t breathe.
That’s the part most miss.
Disasters don’t start with chaos.
They start with conditions.
Too many variables.
Too close to the limit.
And one small shift…
spreads faster than anyone can react.
This isn’t just about festivals.
It’s malls.
Airports.
Buildings.
Any place where systems and people meet under pressure.
The real question isn’t:
“Is it safe?”
It’s:
What happens when everything is stressed at once?
Because when it fails -
It doesn’t fail one part at a time.
It cascades.
And by the time you see it…
it’s already too late.
