We would like to express our utmost congratulations to our first and foremost pupil in chambers, Dr Stephen Jacob, who was called to the bar on 5th September 2024 before YA Tuan Moses Susayan at the Ipoh High Court.

Dr Stephen was a former Senior Consultant General Surgeon who served for 34 years in Government Hospitals in various states. He served 24 years as a specialist and 20 years as Head of Surgical Departments.

Dr Stephen later went on to read the law in Brickfields Asia College (BAC) and completed his CLP examination in 2022. He has undergone his 9 months of pupillage under a master of Bawani KS.

Dr Stephen is a true testament that you can achieve anything in life if you set your mind to it, no matter your age. He is a good inspiration to anyone who is aspiring to enter the legal fraternity at any point in life.

Y Kohila obtained a civil court order for Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) to pay her more than RM366,000 in relation to her unlawful dismissal as a manager from the central bank for taking part in political activities.

The Kuala Lumpur High Court today awarded Kohila RM366,062 in damages and ordered BNM to pay her RM50,000 in costs.

Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) announced the outcome of the damage assessment on X earlier this morning, with a photograph of Kohila (second left) posing outside the High Court alongside her legal team led by Ambiga Sreenevasan.
