Glad to share with our clients and friends that Habib Díaz Noriega founding partner at SepLaw was interviewed for the radio broadcast named “Fighting for Justice” by her host Jesika Alejandra Velazquez Torres at IMER, Instituto Mexicano de la Radio to give a general overview of the National Code for Civil and Family Procedures recently enacted by the Mexican Federal Congress. With great honor and proud share with our clients and friends that our founding partner Habib Díaz Noriega recently appointed as Chair for the Civil Law Section at the Mexican Bar Association (Barra Mexicana, Colegio de Abogados AC) with the assistance of our Senior Associate Koichi Herrera Sato had a successful first session.

Both guest speakers, Honorable Judge Enrique Duran and litigation attorney Carlos Pastrana provided a complete view in connection with the National Code of Civil and Family Procedures (Código Nacional de Procedimientos Civiles y Familiares).

This statute was approved yesterday by the Mexican Senate (Senado de la República) and soon to be discussed at the House of Representatives (Cámara de Diputados - H. Congreso de la Unión).

Its purpose is to create a better justice for everyone by having one single statute for all federal and local courts in Mexico, giving procedural uniformity for civil and family disputes.

The above-mentioned legislative process derived from Habib Diaz Noriega’s remarkable participation and also the flawless assistance of our senior associate Julián López Olivas in a Mexican federal proceeding (Amparo proceeding) in which they represented the Mexican Bar Association all the way up to the First Chamber of the Mexican Supreme Court of Justice.

Accordingly, the Mexican Federal Congress was forced to enact the National Code of Civil and Family Procedures.
