New Supplementary SOP for Containerized Operations at Coastal Ports under the Border Trade Method
(Yangon - Kawthaung - Ranong and Raining - Kawthaung - Yangon Routes)

On 2 September 2025, Department of Trade of the Ministry of Commerce has released a supplementary Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for containerized operations at coastal ports between (Yangon - Kawthaung - Ranong) and (Ranong - Kawthaung - Yangon) routes under the Border Trade Method.

This supplementary SOP for amending the expressions in paragraph 29 of the previous Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) concerning containerized coastal transport utilizing the aforementioned route. Therefore, in accordance with this supplementary news release, the process of transferring and loading containers (Transshipment) at Yangon Port - If conducted in connection with shipping lines operating the border trade route (Yangon - Kawthaung - Ranon) and (Ranong - Kawthaung - Yangon) container system - shall be carried out in compliance with the Myanmar Port Authority’s Order Notification No. (1/2025) and the Customs Department’s Order No. (1/2022).

Opposition Rights under the Trademark Law of Myanmar

Under the Myanmar Trademark Law, if someone applies to register a mark that may affect your rights, you have the legal right to oppose that application.

a. Once a trademark application is published from the Intellectual Property Department of Myanmar, any interested person can file an opposition.
b. The opposition must be submitted within 60 days from the date of publication.
c. A prescribed fee must be paid, and the opposition must be based on the grounds mentioned in Section 13 and 14 of the Trademark Law.
This process ensures that owners of existing trademarks, or those with prior rights, can prevent the registration of marks that are confusingly similar, misleading, or infringing.

ဂ. သတ်မှတ်ထားသော အခကြေးငွေကို ပေးဆောင်ရမည်ဖြစ်ပြီး ကန့်ကွက်လွှာသည် ကုန်အမှတ်တံဆိပ်ဥပဒေ ပုဒ်မ ၁၃ နှင့် ၁၄ တွင်ဖော်ပြထားသော အကြောင်းရင်းများအပေါ် အခြေခံရမည်ဖြစ်သည်။
ဤလုပ်ငန်းစဉ်သည် လက်ရှိကုန်အမှတ်တံဆိပ်ပိုင်ရှင်များ သို့မဟုတ် ဦးစားပေးအခွင့်အရေးရှိသူများအတွက် ဆင်တူယိုးမှား၊ မှားယွင်းစေနိုင်သော သို့မဟုတ် ချိုးဖောက်နေသော အမှတ်အသားများ မှတ်ပုံတင်ခြင်းမှ အကာအကွယ် ပေးနိုင်ပါသည်။
