Be a Blessing. Help a Child Go Back to School. 📚❤️

Another school year has begun, yet many children in our communities are still unable to return to school.

Education may be free, but uniforms, books, shoes, pens, pencils, and other learning materials are not.

So, what becomes of the future of thousands of children whose families cannot afford these basic necessities?

At Upskill Africa Foundation (UAF), in support of government and partners' efforts, we monitor education within communities and as part of our work, we identify Out-of-School Children, and mobilize support to help them return to school.

🚸 23 children have been identified and are currently awaiting support to go back to school.

These are not simply numbers or children counted in a community survey. We call them "Invisible Children" because many have remained outside the education system for years.

Some are 10, 13, and 14 years old and have never entered a classroom. Others dropped out of school 2, 3, 4, or even 5, 6 years ago and there has been no support for them to return to school.

Every child deserves an opportunity to learn, grow, and build a better future.

One child supported today can mean a different future tomorrow.

Imagine being born... and from age 1 to 5, 8, 10, and even up to 13, you have never entered a classroom.

Right now, school registration is ongoing. Many schools have opened already and lots of children are going to school. But the painful truth is this: Thousands of school-age children in Liberia are still unable to attend. And the biggest reason is poverty.

Along with our collaborative partners, through our No Invisible Child - NIC Initiative 2026/2027, we conducted Community Monitoring and household engagement from September 1-19, 2026, just in two communities: Pipeline Wein Town and Pipe Bassa Town. We have identified over 25 school-age children who are not able to attend this academic year.

And heartbreakingly, about 16 children, ages 5 to 13, among them have NEVER entered school since birth.

These are the real "Invisible Children" we stand for: the longest-staying Out-of-School children. We are seeking support to connect them to education.
No child should grow up completely invisible to formal Education system.

We are appealing to the public, government, development partners, and humanitarians to please aid these children in enrolling. Sponsoring a child restores the future of an entire generation.

📚💪 Empowering Children, Strengthening Households

At Upskill Africa Foundation (UAF), we are not just identifying out-of-school children and facilitating their re-enrollment into the formal education system. We are also empowering their households by equipping parents and guardians with practical skills such as soap making, tie-dye, cake making, and business skills to enable them to start income-generating activities that can help their children go to school and remain in school.

Along with our collaborative partner Transformative Youth Of Liberia-TYOL for the WOMEN AND HOUSEHOLDS EMPOWERMENT INITIATIVE (WHEI), we are currently training 35 parents and guardians in professional practical skills in soap making and tie-dye in the Telecon community, Paynesville, Liberia.

With greater support, we are committed to expanding this initiative across more communities, making sure no child remains invisible and no household is left without income-generating skills.

Together, we are working to ensure that children return to school, remain in school, and have the support they need to build a better future. 🎓🌍
