Independence Day Message from the President, Executive Council, and Secretariat of the Liberian National Bar Association

Fellow Members of the Bar,

On behalf of the President, the Executive Council, and the Secretariat of the Liberian National Bar Association, we extend heartfelt congratulations and warmest wishes to all members of the Bar and the people of Liberia as we celebrate the 179th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Liberia.

This historic occasion provides an opportunity for us to reflect on our nation’s journey, honor the sacrifices of those who laid the foundation of our Republic, and renew our commitment to building a just, peaceful, democratic, and prosperous Liberia.

As members of the legal profession, we occupy a unique and sacred position in our society. We are the custodians of justice, defenders of constitutional governance, and guardians of the rule of law. In these challenging times, we call upon every legal practitioner to remain steadfast in the discharge of these solemn responsibilities. Let us continue to serve with integrity, courage, independence, and unwavering fidelity to the law, ensuring that justice is administered without fear or favor.

As Liberia marks 179 years of nationhood, let us recommit ourselves to strengthening democratic institutions, protecting fundamental rights and freedoms, and advancing the rule of law. Through our collective dedication and professional excellence, we can help position our beloved nation to take its rightful place within the community of nations.

The challenges confronting our country demand principled leadership and an unwavering commitment to justice. Now, more than ever, the legal profession must stand united in safeguarding the Constitution, promoting accountability, defending the independence of the judiciary, and fostering peace, national unity, and democratic governance.

As we celebrate this Independence Day, let us be inspired by the ideals upon which our Republic was founded and reaffirm our pledge to serve our nation with honor and distinction. Together, let us continue to uphold the nobility of our profession and contribute meaningfully to the progress and development of our dear Liberia.

May Almighty God continue to bless the Liberian National Bar Association and the Republic of Liberia.
