📊 Express Entry Pool Update — Competition Remains Strong

The Express Entry pool continues to show strong competition at the higher CRS levels, with 92,650 candidates holding CRS scores of 451 or above. This concentration highlights the continued competitiveness for candidates targeting general Express Entry draws.

At the same time, the 5,000 French-Language Proficiency ITAs issued at a CRS cut-off of 382 demonstrate the opportunities available through category-based selection for eligible candidates.

📊 Express Entry Pool Update — Competition Remains Strong

Between July 19 and August 3, 2026, Canada’s Express Entry pool saw a net increase of 2,081 candidates across the 451+ CRS ranges.

The 501–600 CRS range alone grew by 1,572 candidates, representing approximately 76% of the overall growth at 451+.

This continued growth at the higher end of the pool highlights that competition remains strong for candidates targeting general Express Entry draws.

At the same time, this week’s 5,000 French-language ITAs at a CRS cut-off of 391 demonstrates the significant opportunities available through category-based selection for eligible candidates.

🚨 ONTARIO OINP UPDATE | August 4, 2026

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has officially opened its e-Filing Portal for Ontario Workforce Priority Stream Expressions of Interest.

Applicants are now required to select the appropriate stream based on their occupation:

✅ TEER 0–3
✅ TEER 4–5

⚠️ Important: Once you choose a stream and submit your application, you cannot change your selection. If the wrong stream is selected, you may have to withdraw your application and apply again under the correct category.

📊 Express Entry Pool Update — High-CRS Competition Eases

Between June 21 and July 19, 2026, Canada’s Express Entry pool declined by 5,668 profiles, while the 501–600 CRS range dropped by 1,879 candidates, from 20,012 to 18,133.

The 491–500 range also declined by 657 candidates, falling from 13,537 to 12,880.

After months of growth at the higher end of the pool, these numbers show some easing in competition — but with 18,133 candidates still sitting between CRS 501–600, competition remains significant.

This week also highlights the importance of category-based selection, with 5,000 French-language candidates receiving ITAs at a CRS cut-off of just 399, compared with 516 for CEC.

Between May 24 and June 21, 2026, Canada's Express Entry pool expanded by 3,666 profiles. The 501–600 CRS score range alone grew by 2,067 candidates, representing approximately 56% of all new profiles.

While the growth was less concentrated than the previous month, the majority of new candidates are still entering the pool with highly competitive CRS scores.
