Uva Shakthi Foundation (USF) is a nonprofit making Organization, free from any political, religious and ethnic leanings. USF was formed in 1996. Civic and Political endeavors.

The organizational structure consists of a General Council, Executive Council and the Board of Office Bearers with Citizens Councils Our Organization

Enhancement tied to inspire building, integrating skill trainings with livelihood entrepreneurship,
Social education, people oriented public services and fostering friendly nature. These activities are progressing in the broader setting of the process of transformation marked by the cultured. The strength of USF is lies in the people, consolidated by a comprehensive community network, in which women’s societies, Household wives circle, workers and peasantry forums, youth and children’s clubs codified into the Citizen’s Councils play centralized position. The target locations consist the Tea-Rubber
Plantations, Rural Villages and Residential settlements, representing the ethnicity of the Tamils, Sinhalese and Muslims respectively. The governed bodies are the General Council, Executive Council and the Board of office Bearers backed by the Advisory Board. The functional crew are the Center and field staff along with the Regional Teams of Trained volunteers. Women shares nearly sixty five presents of all the Organizational and constitutional arrangements. Legal status and Registration:-

USF is duly registered with the Social Service Ministry under NGO Secretariat (Reg. Number L -18601) and with the Central Environment Authority: /12/12/ 2000 (2.) Passara Divisional Secretariat: Reg: No. P/VSO/04 /98 Date: 23 /07 /1998 and (03) Central Environment Authority Reg: No: 6/6/17/22/20 Date: 6/8/1999. It closely collaborates with National level Consortium's and network with the Uva NGO forum, Local Service Providing Authorities

The General Council represents the representatives of the ICOs Citizens' Councils and the founder members. Vision of the Organization:

“Strive towards an equitable society that foster the spirits of good governance and human rights culture with dignified livelihood and gender sensitiveness”

Mission Statement:
•Guide and inspire the target communities in achieving economic wellbeing, higher educational achievements with increased health and nutritional standard.

•Mobilize the Women in Plantations and Rural Villages for them to become asset holders and decision makers through skill orientation and income erring activities

•Introduce constructive programmes among Youth in the multi-ethnic communities that while free them from adult dependency will make them active contributors in family and social life

•Implementing friendly nature strategies that will help in preservation of water resources and catchment areas

•Advocacy based on information sharing and communication skills that will urge the citizens to become the core mechanism in soliciting quality services from local government and service providing authorities

Dignified Transitional Shelters and Community Based Psychosocial Support for Ditwah Affected Families - Transitional Recovery & Dignity Project (TRDP) and Reference # 2026/5/007
We are Back to School with Confidence; at; Primary Vidyalayam- Cullen Estate, Badulla
Through tripartite mediation involving the government, Estate Management, RPC Balangoda Plantations, the worker community, and the Uva Shakthi Foundation, a damaged community center in a safe location was repurposed as a Transitional School. Key renovations funded by UN/LVF allocations include fully renovated infrastructure featuring 05 classrooms for Grades 1 to 5 that accommodate 69 students and 11 teachers, complete with cemented flooring and secure iron-bar and net outdoor fencing. Additionally, safe WASH and Sanitation facilities were established, featuring a reliable pipe-borne water supply connected via a 500-meter pipeline from the local water intake, a dedicated stock tank, and proper sanitary and hygiene facilities. A study visit to Escalade Division at Park Estate, Kandapola on Community driven skilled work Project: Design & Implementation of Employment-Intensive Recovery in Flood & Landslide-Affected Badulla & Nuwara Eliya Districts, on the day of 25th August 2026, leadership of the PHDT Director General -Mr. Lal Perera , and the Funding Agency ILO with the CSO partner Uva Shakthi Foundation to meet the community who are benefited under this scheme and to monitor the construction process and the impact of the project and the sustainability measures.

Park Estate (Eskadale Division) – Road Rehabilitation & Water Infrastructure Upgrading Project:Uva Shakthi Foundation (USF) partnered with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Technical engineering fasiliton of the PHDT to deploy the Employment-Intensive Investment Programme (EIIP) framework. The core objective of the EIIP strategy is to link immediate humanitarian socio-economic relief with long-term climate-resilient recovery. By prioritizing labour-based and local resource-based construction methods over heavy machinery (which is used strictly where technically unavoidable), the project actively maximizes short-term, formal employment opportunities for the disaster-affected families.
