On This Day in Cayman Islands History 🌴🇰🇾

Today marks a significant moment in our history! 🗓️

September 20, 1962 – The Cayman Islands saw the establishment of its first Constitution, a pivotal event that set the foundation for modern governance and self-determination. This constitution allowed for the creation of the Legislative Assembly, giving Caymanians the ability to elect representatives and shape the future of our beloved islands.

Since then, the Cayman Islands have continued to evolve, growing into a vibrant, world-class destination for finance, tourism, and culture. 🎉

Let’s take a moment to appreciate the journey of our islands and the incredible progress we’ve made!

Cayman Islands' Premier, the Honourable Alden McLaughlin, has a reason to be proud. With just 8 cases of COVID-19 and one death, there have been no confirmed instances of community transmission in the Cayman Islands— all positive cases have been connected to travellers.

The offices of Western International Group will be closed at the end of business today until further notice.

During this evolving health situation, the safety and well-being of our staff, clients, and families is our main priority. We greatly care about our communities and want to do our part to keep you healthy, keep our employees healthy and help minimize the spread of the virus.

In that spirit, we are implementing more aggressive components of our Business Continuity Plan to assist in the containment of the coronavirus and help protect us all.
