TBT to a moment that reminded me why stories shape us. 😊

Last November, during Sir John A. Cumber Primary School’s (SJACP) Heritage Week, I joined an Our History, Our Past panel alongside Hon. Francine Jackson, Ms. Daphne Orrett, Mrs. Authurlyn Pedley, and Ms. Eziethamae Bodden, MBE, moderated by young Caymanian Ms. Danielle Seales.

What resonated most was the genuine curiosity of the Year 5 and 6 students. Their thoughtful questions about Cayman’s history, culture, and traditions, and their eagerness to hear our personal stories, reaffirmed for me how impactful learning from lived experience can be.

Thank you to Ms. Jovanna Wright, Principal of SJACP and the Social Studies Committee at SJACP for fostering spaces that strengthen Cayman heritage and culture, helping our children understand where they come from. ✨️🙌🏾🎉🇰🇾

What Cayman story or tradition do you think every child should learn? 😊

It’s my birthday! 🎉🎂 I’m so thankful to celebrate another birthday and for all that God has done and continues to do in my life.

Alumni Spotlight: Paullete McField

Paullete McField’s journey is a true testament to resilience, ambition, and community spirit. A proud graduate of the International College of the Cayman Islands, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Human and Social Services and is currently advancing her education by pursuing an MBA at ICCI.

Beyond her academic achievements, Paullete is the author of The Adventures of Tim and Chippa, a children’s book that celebrates Caymanian culture. In a generous act of giving back, she donated a copy of her book to ICCI’s library, inspiring students with her story and passion for preserving local heritage.

Paullete’s professional accomplishments are equally impressive. She currently serves as Chief Analyst at the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority, is a Notary Public in and for the Cayman Islands, and holds certification as a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS). Passionate about youth empowerment and civic engagement, she continues to lead with purpose and integrity.
