⚠️ Unpaid wages in Korea? Don’t wait too long.

Foreign workers may also claim severance pay, minimum wage shortfalls, unpaid wages, and overtime pay.

But wage claims generally have a 3-year limitation period. Simply reporting your employer to the Labor Office may not stop this period, so separate legal action may be necessary.

🇰🇷 Important change for foreign children born in Korea

Korea’s Constitutional Court ruled that foreign children born in Korea have the right to birth registration, regardless of their parents’ immigration status.

Even if the parents do not have a valid visa, they should still be able to register their child’s birth.

⚠️ But remember:

Birth Registration ≠ Korean Citizenship
Birth Registration ≠ A Korean Visa

🇰🇷 Did you know that refugee applicants in Korea may be eligible for living-expense support?

Not every applicant automatically receives it. Eligibility is determined based on factors such as the applicant’s living situation, dependents, and other circumstances.

⏰ Important: Living-expense support may be provided only for a period of up to 6 months from the date of the refugee application.

💰 Depending on household size, monthly support may range from ₩583,400 for one person to ₩1,807,300 for a five-person household.

💳 From September 2026, Korea will begin changing the payment method from cash/bank transfers to card points. The points can be used for necessities such as food and clothing, but cannot be withdrawn as cash or transferred.

⚠️ Eligibility and the actual amount depend on each applicant’s circumstances.

🇰🇷 Korea’s minimum wage has changed a lot over the past 10 years.

In 2016, the hourly minimum wage was ₩6,030.
In 2026, it is ₩10,320 — an increase of about 71% in 10 years. 📈

The biggest one-year increase during this period came in 2018, when the minimum wage rose by 16.4%.

For 2026, the monthly minimum wage is ₩2,156,880 based on 209 working hours per month.

And in 2027, the hourly minimum wage will rise again to ₩10,700.

🇰🇷 Important E-7-4 visa changes in Korea!

Starting from June 2026, Korea has changed the E-7-4 skilled worker system.

🌾 In agriculture, livestock and fisheries, the E-7-4 employment limit can now be increased from 30% to up to 50%.

⚠️ There is also an important change for foreign workers who had to change jobs because of unpaid wages, violence, unfair treatment, or business closure. In certain cases, your previous employment period may now be recognized when changing to or extending an E-7-4 visa.

The same changes also apply to E-7-4R.

📌 Eligibility depends on your individual situation, so the requirements should be checked carefully.

I found a great Uzbek restaurant called FORTUNE near Dongdaemun Station and DDP. 🇺🇿
The food was really delicious, and I think I’ll definitely visit again!

By the way, I’ve noticed more and more Russian and Uzbek shops, restaurants, and people around Dongdaemun these days. The Central Asian community here seems to be growing. 🇰🇷🇷🇺🇺🇿

🇰🇷 Did you know that more than 2.23 million foreign residents are living in Korea?

Korea is becoming more international every year. People from many different countries are living, working, studying, and building their lives here. 🌏

The largest foreign communities include Korean-Chinese, Vietnamese, Chinese, Uzbek, and Nepali residents. And foreign communities are not only in Seoul — large numbers of foreign residents also live in Gyeonggi, Incheon, Chungnam, Gyeongnam, and many other regions.

Where are you from, and where do you live in Korea? 👇

In some cases, you may be able to apply again. But simply repeating the same application may not be enough.

✈️ Entry denied at a Korean airport?

It may still be possible to challenge the decision. I have handled cases where clients were eventually allowed to enter Korea.

⚠️ If your entry is denied, act as quickly as possible and seek legal advice.
