[G-1 holders] Those who applied for a refugee status.

I understand that you want to stay in Korea to work legally. But just because you want to work in Korea, that doesn't mean you can apply for G-1. G-1 is only for true refugees.

I've noticed many people apply for G-1 without submitting any evidence. And immigration officers can check what kind of evidence you have submitted to the court etc.

If they find out you haven't submitted any evidence to the court, why do you expect them to extend your stay?

Immigration officers will assume you are just abusing and taking advantage of the law system in Korea.

I am glad and happy that an immigration officer finally accepted my client's application. I've noticed many people have a hard time applying because they don't speak Korean well and they don't know the law and legislation. Immigration officers sometimes don't even accept their visa applications!! 😞

Check your qualification for D8 visa and information about the investment visa (D8 Visa).

When I first started to work as an administrative attorney, I've noticed quite a lot of foreigners applying for D8 visa without really understanding what they need to prepare. As a result they spend even more money than they initially paid "them."

Many try to get D8 because someone in their community tells them that they should get D8 visa. But this is really a bad decision. You should be careful in everything when you prepare for this visa. The process is getting more stricter. And you must get yourself ready for the worst scenarios.

There is a saying in Koreans. "Do not easily trust anyone who speaks your own language when you are in a foreign country."

Can you invite your child after you get a Korean citizenship?

If you have a Korean citizenship and have a child outside Korea, you are eligible for inviting your child into Korea.

There is a difference between when you are not a Korean and when you are a Korean. It is much easier for you to bring your child to Korea when you get a citizenship here.

The things to make clear about G-1-5
Question: "G-1-5 is a refugee visa, right?"
Answer: NO. it's just a REFUGEE APPLICANT VISA.

It just means that you applied for a refugee status waiting for the interview.

G-1-5 is NOT even a visa. It just makes you stay in Korea temporarily.

If someone tells you that you can live in Korea as a resident in Korea with G-1-5, then they are lying to you.

Refugee acceptance rate is under 2%!!
Can you truly prove that you are being persecuted or threatened because of your religion, race, or political stance?

Applying for G-1-5 just because you want to work right now in Korea is not a good idea.

"Well my friend has G-1-5 and they are refugees now." No they aren't. They need to get F-2 visa after the interview.

Many people come to Korea to apply for G-1-5, thinking they can become refugees. But no, you are just a refugee applicant... And when you leave the country, you will have hard time coming back to Korea.

For E-9 holders, K-Point E-7-4 application has been updated. It used to be that you could apply until the December 20th. But now it has been changed to "yearly," meaning you can still apply for it now until the end of the year!

Even if you don't meet the Korean language proficiency requirement, you still can apply for E-7-4. So, they now allow you to work and learn Korean, at the same time, to meet the Korean language requirement with E-7-4 visa.

Please check your qualifications and apply for E-7-4.
