동물진료부 공개 의무화를 담은 수의사법 개정안이 지난 4일(화) 국회 농림축산식품해양수산위원회 농식품법안심사소위에 상정됐다. 정청래, 조경태 의원이 각각 대표발의한 법안이다.

San Francisco explored a pilot program in 2012 called WOOF (Wonderful Opportunities for Occupants and Fidos) that aimed to address panhandling and shelter crowding at the same time.

Under the plan, carefully selected dogs from the city shelter would be placed with screened and trained formerly homeless people who were living in supportive housing. Participants would foster the dogs until permanent homes were found and would receive a weekly stipend of about $50 to $75.

The idea was to provide a small income alternative to panhandling while giving certain dogs and puppies extra socialization and care outside the shelter. The program was described as a pilot and was not presented as a general, ongoing rule that all unhoused people in San Francisco could access.
