KOPIA is a national PV association dedicated to the photovoltaic industry and represents all facets of the PV value chain in Korea at national and international level. Our objectives are to establish the best legal framework to boost the Korean PV industry, facilitate PV business opportunities through market research and support,
stimulate interest in cutting-edge PV technologies & application, a

nd raise the public awareness of PV by providing the best information and knowledge possible. Korea aims to become one of the top five global PV nations in 2015. To this end, Korea is concentrating its efforts on strategic R&D, industrialization and industry promotion;
market creation, export increase, and the improvement of long-term business growth infrastructure. In order to fulfill this goal efficiently, KOPIA is committed to reform regulation, assist in technology R&D, expand domestic market foundation as well as support domestic PV players to expand their business on a global scale. There are about ninety company members ranging from those who produce polysilicon, cell, and module products to those who are system integrators. Some of the large companies include Hyundai Heavy Industries, OCI, Shinsung Solar Energy, LG Electronics, Hanwha Chemicals, and Samsung SDI. All ninety members play a crucial role in the PV industry.
