The Paramedic Association of Kenya (TPAK) would like to wish all our beloved members and the Proficient Paramedic Practitioners a belated happy International Paramedics Day. Our valuable Paramedic’s Caucus shall continue supporting all Paramedics in this great Republic of Kenya, East Africa, Africa and globally, within their line of duties. On its own motion ‘’Suo Motu or Sua Sponte’’, the association shall be steadfast in advocating the enhancement of:- Progressive Scope of Practice, Competent Paramedic Curriculum, Standards of Continuous Professional Development (CPD), Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics, Standards of Proficiency for Paramedics, Ambulance – Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG), and Guidance on Health and Character amongst this significant health cadres, whiling firmly espousing our obligatory, therein, by tremendously championing and petitioning for conferment of more stringent Statutory obligations, which shall be executed by the Authority (Kenya Health Professions Oversight Authority), through an amendment or repealing of the Principal Act (The Health Act No. 21 of 2017), therefore, with its (KHPOA) inherent, expressed, exclusive original oversighting authority, herein, empowering the body corporate to an competitive status, similar to its Common Law counterparts; the (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency - Ahpra) [National Agency]) and The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Furthermore, TPAK shall proactively advocate, champion and petition for establishment of the Paramedicine Board of Kenya through an enactment of an Ordinary Bill to law, and with implied Statutory obligations (including; overseeing a mandatory compliance of the Legal Oath and Solemn Affirmation “juration” amongst professionals being admitted as Paramedics, and their names are at the time being duly entered upon the Roll of Paramedics. Herein, the implied or expressed mandatory compliance with Statutory Declaration, shall only be applicable to duly enrolled Paramedics) through the aforesaid imperative law, similar to its Common Law counterpart, the Paramedicine Board of Australia (National Board). The Paramedicine Board of Kenya shall be established as a Statutory Body for the health profession of paramedicine or paramedical science, hitherto, the aforementioned Board, shall have a primary oversighting authority both at National and County level while working in consultation and harmoniously with the Authority (Kenya Health Professions Oversight Authority) which has the inherent exclusive original oversighting authority, against the other statutory regulatory bodies of the different health professions.
In a nutshell, TPAK shall tremendously advocate for an enactment, amendment or repealing any legislation in order to stringently protect: - paramedical science or paramedicine profession, hereinafter, empower registered Paramedics (General Health Practitioner), Specialist Paramedics, Advanced Paramedics and Consultant Paramedics or Senior Health Practitioners, to prescribe, administer, supply or dispense Prescription Only Medicines (POM) or Part I poison, as Scientific Proven and a common practice under Common Law.
