🚨 Gender-Based Violence (GBV) continues to devastate lives in Kenya.
Shocking recent reports show over 1,000 women killed in femicide cases from 2016–2025, with husbands and intimate partners responsible in most instances. In 2025 alone, at least 102 women lost their lives—many in their own homes. 😔
Yet, the law is on your side. Kenya's Constitution, Sexual Offences Act (2006), Protection Against Domestic Violence Act (2015), and Victim Protection Act provide strong protections:
✅ Protection orders to keep abusers away
✅ Access to justice with vulnerable witness measures
✅ Medical care, counseling, shelters, and legal support
✅ Rights to report, prosecute, and recover
If you're a survivor, a friend, or family member—know this: You are not alone. Justice and healing are possible. 💜
