Baseline Auctioneers The business was established in October 1995 trading as Baseline Auctioneers. we are duly registered and licensed Auctioneers under class B.

We are duly Registered and Licensed by the Auctioneers Licensing Board and are members of the National Association of Kenya Auctioneers. Enclosed please find a copy of our Class ‘B’ Licence for the year 2013 and Membership Certificate for the year 2013 for ease of reference. We undertake the following assignments; Auctioneering, Official Brokerage, Private Investigations, Repossessions, Debt Colle

ction and Distress for rent. Since our establishment, we have worked for the following institutions; Barclays Bank of Kenya Ltd, NIC Bank Ltd, The Official Receiver and Interim Liquidator, Kenya Commercial Bank Ltd, Savings and Loan (K) Ltd, Finance Bank Ltd, National Bank of Kenya Ltd, The Co-operative Bank of Kenya Ltd, Bank of Baroda (K) Ltd, and Prudential Bank Ltd (under Liquidation) Ecobank Kenya Ltd among others. In the event of executing our duties on behalf of the above institutions, in conjunction with the relevant legal arms, we have managed to realise their securities. Where auctions/repossession has not been successful, we have been able to give up-to-date reports and Suggestions/Recommendations on how best recovery can be achieved. All along, we have managed to establish a good reputation and sound working relationship with the institutions we have worked for. The volume of work we receive from them can evidence this.

What are the duties of a licensed auctioneer?
A licensed auctioneer is authorized under the Auctioneers Act to undertake the following duties:

To levy Distress for rent against defaulting tenants pursuant to the provisions of the Distress for Rent Act Cap 293 laws of Kenya.
To attach for sale any movable or immovable property pursuant to a court order made pursuant to any written law or contract.
To repossess property pursuant to any written law or contract.
To carry out evictions pursuant to a Court order.
To realize charged security
To offer for sale any movable or immovable property through public auction or any other mode of sale by competition.

It is a an offence punishable under the Auctioneers Act and the Penal Code for anyone to undertake the above duties in Kenya without a valid Auctioneer’s license issued by the Kenya Auctioneers Licensing Board. Only licensed auctioneers are authorized under the law to undertake these tasks. You should always ask to see the identification badge and the current practicing license of the auctioneer you intend to engage and if in any doubt, please always contact the Auctioneer Licensing Board based at Milimani Commercial Courts Nairobi or the Auctioneers Association.

Can an auctioneer enter my property without my authority?
Yes. A licensed auctioneer is under the law authorized to enter into any property to enforce a court order or instructions from third parties against your property in the course of his duties. An auctioneer may request for police es**rt where he predicts resistance or intimidation by the debtor or where he has to break any door to gain access to property. This will always be at the expense of the debtor / owner of the property to be executed against.
