National Police Service Commission- Kenya The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) is established under Article 246 of the Constitution. NPSC is established under Article 246 of the Constitution.

The functions of the commission are spelt under Article 246(3) of the Constitution as well as Article 247, the National Police Service Act. The functions of the National Police Service Commission include:
-Keep under review all matters in relation to standards or qualifications required of members of the service;

-With the advice of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission, determine the appropri

ate remuneration and benefits of the service and staff of the Commission;

-Approve application for engagement by police officers in trade and other business, in accordance with the law relating to matters of leadership and integrity under Article 80 of the Constitution;

The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) informs the general public and all persons recruited on 14th July 2014,who were scheduled to report to various Police training colleges on 3rd October 2014,that the reporting date has been postponed until further orders and directions from the court. This has been necessitated by the case filed at the High Court in Nairobi by the Independent Policing Oversight Authority(IPOA) challenging the recruitment process. First officer to be vetted today, Levin kyule Mwandi has taken his seat ready to begin the interview. Chairman NPSC Johnston Kavuludi welcomes the officer and introduces members of the vetting panel.

vetting of 23 police officers of the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police commences today at 9.00am at the National Police Service Commission offices at Sky park plaza, Westlands. The vetting will be conducted over a period of 5 days. Five officers will be interviewed today. They include Levin kyule Mwandi, Kiriungi Nduta Beatrice, Ijora Leo Nyongesa,Benson kibue and Kanampiu j. Kibaara.
