When you come to think of it;African history has a disconnect between precolonial and post colonial period.One can easily tell what happened during and post colonial period.This generation is almost a blank slate on matters precolonial period.Academically,we interact with history of the Caucasian stoke that dates back as far as humanity began.Their is nothing on the African people except the fact that Africa is the cradle for mankind(based on archeological evidence) and maybe something about slave trade and early kingdoms such as Buganda kingdom.and whenever there is, it is from Eorupean records or whichever race that was exploring in Africa.That is why we had the explorers 'discovering' African mountains and lakes as if Africans did not exist .Like any other race,we had a life as a black people but it is 'erased'.The black race must learn from the past as humanity progresses.Much History on Africa is from an interpreted perspective,not a first hand account of events or materials that have a direct relationship to the context of the events .Again,African oral tradition is not considered at all or taken lightly when considered,not only by other people on this Earth but even amongst ourselves. I, in many occasions have shared accounts from what I have heard and read growing up as kalenjin,about a lot within the Kalenjin set up and I encountered a fair degree of disbelief bluntly, boldly laughed off as one of those 'stori za jaba'.Studying German,I have learnt a thing or two about Germans.Learning the language goes hand in hand with getting to know them culturally too.They sell their ways of life ,their ideas to the world.Back home,a lot is 'sacred' women can't know this or that; children can't know this or that or better still ,a certain tribe can't know this about us.We don't sell our ways of doing things or rather consequently opposed to culture growing through critical 'review' from our immediate next sorrounding,it remains within and becomes somehow primitive and can't therefore stand time.Culture known to the world is embraced in a best case scenario and trimmed in worst case scenario.It is also,as it is embraced,preserved.

Raila is set to lead prayers at the IEBC offices.The opposition is now joining the state in offering prayers, at the face of the current state of the matters,with Ruto and Kenya Kwanza brigade focusing on rain and economic prayers.Raila has been adamant airing his grievances concerning transparency of the IEBC and it's restructuring that is underway.Raila does not only vow not to take part in it's selection process but also in the 2027 general elections.

Pope Francis appoints Very Rev. Fr. Cleophas Oseso Tuka as Bishop of Nakuru.

The Holy Father Pope Francis has appointed Very Rev. Fr. Cleophas Oseso Tuka, as the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Nakuru.

The news of Fr. Oseso’s appointment was officially published in L’Osservatore Romano in Rome on 15th February 2023 at 12.00pm Rome time and 2.00pm Kenyan time. The Apostolic Nuncio to Kenya and South Sudan, His Excellency Archbishop Bert van Megen, also sent an official communication to the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) communicating the same.

The Nuncio’s letter reads in part, “I have the honour and pleasure to inform you that His Holiness Pope Francis has appointed the Reverend Father Cleophas Oseso Tuka, as Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Nakuru. The Bishop-elect hails from the clergy of the Catholic Diocese of Nakuru.”

Bishop-elect Oseso has been serving as the Vicar General of the Catholic Diocese of Nakuru since 25th March 2019 when he was appointed by former Bishop of Nakuru and now Archbishop of Kisumu, Most Rev. Maurice Muhatia Makumba. He was formerly the head of Nakuru Diocese Mission Appeal Office in New York, USA.

The Bishop-elect was born in 1967 in Naivasha. He went to St. Mary’s Molo Seminary for his spiritual studies. He then proceeded to St. Augustine Mabanga Senior Seminary to study philosophy and later to St. Mathias Mulumba Senior Seminary Tindinyo for his theological studies.

He was ordained priest for the Diocese of Nakuru in 1995. After ordination, he was posted to Holy Cross Parish, Shabaab, after which he went to study finance at the then Mwangaza College in 1996.

He served as the Financial Administrator of the diocese from 1997 to 2003. In 2003, he was sent to the Diocese of Syracuse in New York for mission appeal. While there, he served in the position of Parochial Vicar in Rochester Diocese. He came back to Kenya in 2013 and was posted to Mary Mother of God Parish in Kabarnet.
