Somali referee Omar Artan has been denied entry to the United States for the World Cup, according to a Somali government official.

Artan was named as a match official for the tournament in April and had been set to become the first Somali to referee at a World Cup.k

We strongly condemn the reported airstrikes that have allegedly caused harm to civilians living in the rural areas of the Bay region. According to reports from local residents, allegations regarding these airstrikes have been directed at Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and the institutions associated with his administration.

We call upon the United Nations, the European Union, the African Union, and international human rights organizations to urgently launch an independent investigation to establish the facts surrounding this incident and determine responsibility for the harm inflicted upon civilians.

Civilian lives must be protected at all times, and there must be accountability and justice for any violations of human rights or international humanitarian law.
