Business Manager Visa Renewal Approved Under the New Rules (Japan)

Recently, the requirements for the Business Manager Visa in Japan have become much stricter.

In this case, it was not possible to immediately prepare a capital investment of 30 million yen. Therefore, we submitted a detailed business plan showing a clear preparation strategy through 2028. We also supplemented other requirements with written explanations and supporting documents.

Recently, I have been hearing many cases where Business Manager Visa renewal applications were denied and applicants were given only a 30-day period to leave Japan, effectively requiring them to depart from the country.

Even though this was a renewal application, the level of documentation required was actually greater than that of a typical Change of Status of Residence application.

It is also important to note that using a simple prefabricated structure as a business office will likely no longer be accepted under the current immigration standards.

If you are planning to start a business in Japan or apply for a Business Manager Visa, careful preparation of your business plan and documentation is becoming increasingly important.

On October 15 last year, the final day under the old rules, we submitted a last-minute application. We are pleased to report that the visa has been successfully approved. On the other hand, some clients anticipated the stricter new rules. One client decided to close his company and change to a working visa by joining a Japanese company, prioritizing stability for his family. We also have several renewal applications currently under review under the new rules.

The new requirements are not only about having 30 million yen in capital. There are many detailed conditions, such as business stability, actual operations, sales performance, and office requirements.Careful planning and preparation are essential for the Business Manager Visa.

9周年/ 9th Anniversary
本日は、事務所の誕生日となります。
決して順風満帆ではなく、あれこれ悶絶する日々を繰り返していたら9年経ってしまった、というのが正直な感想です。
しかしながら、徐々に仲間も増え、尊敬する先輩、そして父と再び机を並べることができることに、大きな喜びを感じています。
私たちの事務所は、帰化申請や在留資格（≒ビザ）といった、いわゆる国際関係業務に力を入れており、クライアントの90％以上は、外国人の方となります。
そのため、開業した当初、何より私を悩ませたのは言葉の壁でした。
実際に申請先である入管（出入国在留管理局）へ行きますと、ゴリゴリの日本語で申請人へ説明する行政書士を目にします。
確かに、日本の行政書類は複雑ですが、外国人の方を一番悩ませているのもまた、「日本語」という言葉の壁であり、行政書士が日本語オンリーの対応では、入管の職員へ直接質問するのとあまり変わりがないのでは？という大きな疑問があります。
そのため、この9年間、特に「英語」と真剣に向き合った時間でもあり、その重要性を改めて認識し、TELC を立ち上げるきっかけの一つともなりました。
現在、移民や難民問題の議論の真っ只中にあり、帰化申請や在留資格関係のルールは更に厳しくなる予定です。
個人的に、ルールの厳格化は賛成ですが、そもそも日本という国自体、以前ほど憧れの対象ではなくなっていることも肌で感じており、無事に10周年を迎えるためにも、緊張感をもって業務に取り組まねば、と考える次第です。

Congratulations!
Regarding Permanent Residency applications, the screening has become very strict, and we haven't been getting many positive results recently. Amid all that, we received good news today.
In particular, paying Tax, Health insurance and Pension contributions on time is very important for obtaining PR. The application may be denied even if the payment is delayed by just one day.
In addition, the procedure for obtaining Japanese nationality (Naturalization) is also expected to become stricter in the near future.
As a former Naturalization Inspector at the Legal Affairs Bureau, I will be keeping a close eye on how things develop going forward.
